Heimo Zobernig: schwarzescafé
Texts by Maja Hoffmann, Frances Stark, Peter Wächtler, Mark Wigley & Heimo Zobernig
In 2016 Heimo Zobernig was commissioned by the LUMA Foundation to create a new café for the LUMA Westbau in the Löwenbräu arts complex in Zurich. Zobernig’s schwarzescafé – primarily a coffee house and bar – is a multifunctional, architectural intervention, which is used for hospitality, movie screenings, and lectures, as a display space for exhibitions, and as a reading room hosting Kunsthalle Zurich’s library. This publication documents Zobernig’s work, the interventions by artists using his display, and the group exhibition Home, which presented modes of reprenentation of interior space.
